The BTV Solo is the stand-alone software that came with the original “Beat Thang” portable production studio – which was the actual hardware piece. The BTV Solo software works fully without the hardware.

The software is pretty tight and backed up by music aficionados who have serious music cred.

My Overall Thoughts on BTV Solo

It’s pretty dope – it’s definitely a top-shelf music maker but it’s not necessarily the best in the marketplace for most users.

I don’t think it’s the best choice for anyone starting out in music production for the first time. You should probably know a few things about hardware or other more complicated software beat makers first.

That’s why I’d say beginners should go with Dr. Drum or Sonic Producer. BTV Solo’s higher priced options are only worth it because of the VST Instrument support. This expands your sound library like mad and is well worth it in software.

If you don’t know what VST Instruments are, then don’t go with the BTV Solo. And if you don’t plan on buying the hardware eventually, I’d also say stick to one of the other options.

Final Words

Thanks again for checking out our full BTV Solo review. We hope it was helpful. The BTV Solo is an excellent beat maker with great features but it’s probably not the best choice for beginners. However, it does have a 60-day money back guarantee so buy it and try it out. If you like it, keep it. If not, then read these reviews on other music and beat making software.
